Olivier Kamanda is a civic-tech evangelist and White House Presidential Innovation Fellow. He is also the founder of Ideal Impact, a social venture that measures the emotional impact of news by giving readers an opportunity to volunteer, donate, advocate and support causes in real time. Prior to launching Ideal Impact, Olivier served as a speechwriter and senior advisor to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Olivier has also worked as General Counsel to EQCO, a fintech startup; as a Product Manager at Fission Strategy; as an investment funds attorney at White & Case LLP; and the founder and Executive Editor of Foreign Policy Digest, an online magazine aimed at engaging young Americans in international affairs.
He is a long-standing volunteer and sous-chef at Miriam’s Kitchen, a homeless services organization based in DC. Olivier was named Miriam's Kitchen Advocacy Volunteer of the Year in 2014 and one of D.C.’s “Most Influential Leaders Under 40” by Washington Life Magazine in 2015.
Olivier earned his bachelors degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering from Princeton University and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
